The Victorian Bushfire Crisis
It's been all over the news on every channel everyday for approx 3 weeks.
So many families lost their houses & everything they owned. Lives were lost & people are left to rebuild their homes & lives from scratch.
Australia being the wonderful country that it is & Australian's being the aussies they are have been donating time, food, clothes & money to the affected families to help ease the pain staking task ahead of them.
So when The Shades were invited to head line a benifit concert to raise money for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal the lads jumped at the chance dropping all plans & family committments scheduled for the 28th Feb 09 to do the aussie thing that we all do when our aussie brothers & sisters are confronted with such a horrific crisis.
The Venue was a property at Kenthurst. The hosts were Karen & Rudy.
A Humongous applaude go out to this couple who donated their home, time & effort.
Geez Rudy even built a stage especially for it.
There were scouts cooking up a feed. Porta loo's were provided & the sound was supplied & engineered by Greg Suttle.
The local musicians were a fine talented bunch, such as Jimmy & Cam - acoustic guitar Instrumental duo, Jenna - acoustic soloist, Jocie Pendlebury - acoustic soloist & then of course The Shades.
All you had to do was turn up & pay an addmission fee which was then passed on to the benifit.
Everyone had such a great time singing & dancing knowing we were all there for a worthy cause.
The amount raised was $4000.
Thank you all for your support.
